National AEM Cohort - With the National Center on AEM’s technical assistance, each state’s team will develop a coordinated system for providing AEM and accessible technologies across the continuum of education services in the state. The four-year partnership between the Center and states will be leveraged for exchanging resources, sharing findings, and solving common problems across state teams. Together, we’ll implement evidence-based practices for building statewide and local systems for the timely provision and effective use of accessible digital
materials and technologies for all learners who need them. Paulding County School District is participating in the cohort along with Marietta City Schools, Tift County School District and the GaDOE. To learn more about the partnership click here. |

GaDOE "Take a Minute"
Through the AEM Cohort, Paulding County School District is participating in the pilot of "Take a Minute" at East Paulding Middle School and Hiram High School. This information is available to everyone on the GaDOE link below. “Take a Minute” is a simple initiative to support IEP teams when discussing assistive technology (AT), and accessible educational materials (AEM) during IEP meetings. The goal of “Take a Minute” is for IEP teams to briefly discuss or “Take a Minute” in the Special Factors section to talk about a student’s need for (AT) and/or (AEM).
